Medical Societies of the Future: The Challenge of Change
“If you're in a bad situation, don't worry it'll change. If you're in a good situation, don't worry it'll change. “-John A. Simone, Sr.
Sound familiar? It is true that CHANGE is a constant in the world of medical associations and in life! Perhaps it is even truer today!
In light of health system reform, general economic uncertainty and societal changes, coupled with changes in member expectations and demographics, changes in regulations and technology and constant financial challenges, medical society executives and staff will need more than a crystal ball to predict the future role and structure of medical associations.
At this year’s annual conference in Boston, Cate Bower, CAE, IOM, will address Medical Societies of the Future: The Challenge of Change during Friday morning’s general session. This presentation will be timely and relevant to the work we all do everyday! We will gain insights into major trends that have implications for the work of our associations and our work on behalf of our members. We will explore the potential alternative impacts major trends have on the roles and functions of medical societies. And, we will explore the implications of these trends and changing roles on our medical societies.
This is a DON’T MISS session at this year’s conference! Learning how to adapt and lead in a constantly changing environment is an important professional development skill for CEOs and staff specialists alike.
Providing valuable educational opportunities is a core purpose of AAMSE. I’m excited about the 2011 Annual Conference in Boston and this session. Please join me July 20-23rd and Embrace the Revolution of Health Care!
