Dave Fellers, CAE

Dave Fellers, CAE, has been honored with the Key Award by the ASAE & The Center for Association Leadership, which will be presented at ASAE & The Center’s 2008 Annual Meeting & Exposition, August 16-19 in San Diego, CA. He has been the executive director of the Radiological Society of North America since 2001.

Fellers is the 159th recipient of the Key Award, which recognizes executives who demonstrate exceptional qualities of leadership in their own organizations and an exemplary commitment to the association management profession.

Taylor-Jones-Haskell County Medical Society

The Taylor-Jones-Haskell County Medical Society received a national award for its "Vaccinate Before You Graduate" immunization project.

The project won the Health Awareness Promotion Award given by the American Medical Association Alliance. The project involved providing meningococcal vaccine to high school juniors and seniors before they graduate. More than 250 doses of the vaccine have been given in the past year.

The "Vaccinate Before You Graduate" project was one of 31 entries in three categories reviewed by the awards committee.

The honor is the first national award the alliance has received since it was organized in 1917.

Response to the AMA CEJA Report 1

AAMSE Members:

The AAMSE Board of Directors has taken a position in opposition to the AMA Council on Ethical and Judicial Affairs Report 1: Industry Support of Professional Education in Medicine, which will be considered by the AMA House of Delegates at its Annual Meeting, June 14-18. Stuart Hayman, MS

On September 1, 2008, Stuart Hayman will become the executive director of New York State Society of Anesthesiologists, Inc. (NYSSA). The NYSSA is a component society of The American Society of Anesthesiologists, Inc.

Mr. Hayman has been worked for two metropolitan county medical societies in two states over the last 20 years. For the past 10-plus years, he has served as the executive director of the Westchester County Medical Society and the Westchester Academy of Medicine in White Plains , New York. Prior to that position, Mr. Hayman spent 10 years as the director of operations of the Montgomery County Medical Society and its subsidiaries, including a 1,000-physician 24-hour emergency answering service and a medical insurance brokerage.

Mr. Hayman began his career in not-for-profit management as a senior accountant with National Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in Bethesda, Maryland. Additionally, He is a veteran and served in the United States Navy.

Mr. Hayman has been married to his college sweetheart for 23 years and together they have a son, 19, and a daughter, 15. Mr. Hayman has served as a volunteer for: AAMSE Board of Directors, United Way, Pace University Health Care Advisory Committee and other not-for-profits.
