Novak Announced as MSMS Executive Director

The Michigan State Medical Society (MSMS) has chosen Julie L. Novak, MHSA as their new executive director. Julie had been the acting executive director of MSMS for the past year.

TMA proposes Insurer Code of Conduct

The Texas Medical Association (TMA) released a proposal to stop insurance companies from practicing rescission, entitled "Health Insurance Code of
Conduct Act of 2009". This is one of a six-part proposal for improving health insurance in the state of Texas.

Sunshine Bill Reintroduced

Senators Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and Herb Kohl (D-WI) introduced a revised Physician Payments Sunshine Act, altering the language and adding fines up to $1 million for failure to comply.
