Rufus C. Phillips

The Medical Society of Virginia (MSV) Board of Directors has selected Rufus C. Phillips as its new executive vice president. He will assume his duties as the chief staff officer on October 1. He succeeds Paul Kitchen, who resigned after 21 years with the MSV, 11 as executive vice president. Most recently, Phillips was vice president at Intrinergy LLC, a nationally recognized renewable energy company, where he led government relations functions within the business development area.

Colleen Lawler, CAE

Colleen Lawler, CAE will join the American Medical Association as Vice President of Membership on November 1, 2007. Lawler currently serves as Director of Membership for the American Academy of Family Physicians, a position she held since 1997. Prior to joining AAFP, she held several staff leadership positions at the National Association of Realtors.

C. Lynette Drain

C. Lynette Drain has been hired as the executive vice president for the Sarasota County Medical Society. Drain served the Florida Medical Association for 12 years prior to assuming her new position. Former executive vice president Beckett Shady-King retired December 31, 2007.
